Retail Park, Straiton , Midlothian: Peel Developments UK Ltd
Proposal was for a 100,000sqft extension to the Straiton Retail Park. ADL services included preparation of a Transport Assessment and Travel Plan to accompany the planning application. ADL led negotiations with Midlothian Highway Authority, Transport Scotland and their consultants JMP and successfully resolved all the transportation issues. Planning permission was granted in March 2007.
Thurmaston Shopping Centre, Leicestershire: Charles Street Buildings (Leicester) Ltd.
Transport planning and highway detail design services in relation to the redevelopment and expansion of the District Centre at Barkby Thorpe Lane, Thurmaston. ADL provided design advice from the outset in terms of the layout of the car park and servicing arrangements, including TRACK analyses and negotiations with Leicestershire County Highways in terms of car parking provision. Following planning permission ADL undertook the detail design for the off-site highway works and pedestrian improvements.
Foodstore Extra, Reading: Tesco
Re-development of the former Battle Hospital, Reading included a Tesco Extra store, pfs, non-food retail units and 90 flats with an additional 450 residential units provided by Barratt Homes. ADL Highways in conjunction with WSP prepared the Transport Assessment which identified that major off-site highway works were required to the Portman Road corridor. ADL were actively involved in the S106 negotiations to provide these works. ADL Highways undertook the detailed design of a new signalised roundabout to access the site and also the new dual carriageway access road into the site.
ADL have provided a wide range of services for Primark Stores Ltd throughout their UK portfolio. These included: addressing servicing and delivery issues at their flagship Marble Arch store; addressing construction vehicle access for the Liverpool store; resolving transportation based planning issues to successful obtain planning permission in 2008 for their redeveloped and expanded East Ham store; preparing, undertaking and contributing to the instigation of the Travel Plan at the Cambridge store; resolving access and public transport issues at the Bristol store and working on Transportation Assessments for extensions and new stores throughout the Country.
ADL have experience of working on commercial projects including fast food outlets, public houses and restaurants, individual offices and business parks. ADL have also worked on behalf of educational establishments, agricultural producers and religious organisations.
